Keep an eye on free trials
Many services start with a free trial that turns into a paid subscription automatically. Note the end date as soon as you sign up and decide in time whether you want to continue.
Cancellation rules in Germany
In Germany, for contracts concluded since March 1, 2022: after the minimum term, a contract with consumers may only renew for an indefinite period, and you can then cancel at any time with a notice period of at most one month (§ 309 No. 9 BGB).
In Germany, if a contract is concluded through a website, the provider has had to offer a clearly visible cancellation button since July 1, 2022 (§ 312k BGB). You cancel App Store subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
